Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Fred F. Alford; and by two brothers, Bill Stallings and Robert “Jr.” Stallings. Mrs. Bunn was preceded in death by her husband, C.H. “Joe” Bunn and by her brothers, Grover Lewis Alford, Jr. and Alvin Alford.

Paul is also survived by two sisters living in Raleigh, Christine Benton and Geraldine Hall; as well as many lifelong friends. Ruth was also preceded in death by her sisters, Eloise Lupton and Gay Sargent and by her brothers, Guy, John Jr. and Ben Alford. Mrs. Bible is survived by three daughters, Janice Ivey Faircloth and husband Tommy D. Of Fayetteville, Patricia Brast and husband Jeff of Texas and Priscilla Gowin of Pinehurst; a brother, William Alford; and a sister, Faye Cooper, both of Conway, S.C.; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren…. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Edgar “Ed” Alford of the home; two stepdaughters, Robin McCall and husband, Billy of Pawleys Island, and Dawn Alford of Winston-Salem; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; her sister, Barbara Hepler and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born on April 7, 1928 in Madison County she was the daughter of the late E.K. Melba retired from Drexel Heritage and was a member of Harmony Grove Baptist Church. She was a very loving and giving person who was adored by her nieces and nephews.

If Wiley and Addie’s daughters are his sisters, then Wiley and Ella’s sons should be his half-brothers , Wiley being the father of all. Alford and wife, Jo, of Princeton; many special nieces and nephews; special family, Sandra Harrison, Tracy and Michele Goss, and Allie, Harrison, and Hunter. Infant twin daughters, Chastity and Samantha Alford, preceded her in death. A native of Buncombe County she was the daughter of the late James and Dula Hudgins Dotson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Halford; son, Randy Halford; granddaughter, Brooke Freeman; daughter-in-law, Jeanette Halford; as well as 12 brothers and sisters. In addition to her parents and her husband Lila Ruth was preceded in death by grandchildren, B.J.

Dean High School in Maxton, North Carolina. He studied drafting at Fayetteville Technical College and later moved to High Point where he resided for 40 years. Oscar worked at Highland Yarn Mills and later started his own company, High Point Yard Maintenance, which provided services for Piedmont residents for 20 years. He was a member of Christ Cathedral Christian Fellowship Center where he was the Sunday School Superintendent and Deacon of the Church. She was loved by her family and many friends and will always hold a special place in our hearts. Saturday, April 5, 2008, in the chapel of Morris Funeral Home in Asheville. She is survived by four children, John Alford of Asheville, Carol Robertson of Huntsville, Ala., David Alford of Beaufort, S.C., Stephen Alford of Atlanta; and by 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Lynwood T. Alford Sr., 63, died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002. Thursday at Carlisle Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Conner and Pastor Joseph Alford officiating. Burial will follow at the Alford Family Cemetery.
